This Wesley hymn text is among his most well known and well loved. First published in 1747, this anthem is frequently set to the hymn tunes Beecher and Hyfrydol, but here for the first time it is set to Beach Spring, an early American folk tune which provides a distinct strength matching this stirring verse.
